Barcelona have breathed a sigh of relief. The Spanish government’s Higher Sports Council (CSD) has accepted the Blaugrana ‘s appeal , meaning that Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor can be re-registered to return to the pitch .

This decision is not final, as the process could take several months, but it gives Barcelona the possibility of continuing to count on both players… for now. The CSD will now consult La Liga and the Spanish Federation on the refusal to grant a new license to both players and will then make a final decision. In the meantime, Olmo and Víctor could once again be part of Hansi Flick’s options.

It should be remembered that the registrations of both players were rejected earlier this year, due to the fact that Barcelona did not receive the necessary money in time to settle the salary cap and the federation rule does not allow the same player to register with the same team twice in the current season.

Despite this, Barcelona understands that the regulations do not apply to the cases of Olmo and Pau Víctor, with the club claiming that it never wanted to cancel the players’ registrations or for them to leave the institution, and that it was La Liga that did not register them. These arguments are now enough for the CSD to challenge the decisions of La Liga and the Spanish Federation.

During this period, Olmo and Víctor missed the Copa del Rey match against Barbastro and will not be in the Super Cup semi-final against Athletic Bilbao this Wednesday.
