Barcelona internationals willing to take drastic measures to force Olmo and Víctor to register
Players were going to boycott the Spanish national team call
Barcelona ‘s Spanish international players have threatened to refuse to join the national team if the issue of Dani Olmo ‘s registration is not resolved.
It is worth remembering that Barcelona had the registration of Olmo and Pau Víctor refused by the league and federation, but obtained an injunction from the Superior Sports Council (CCSD) that allows them to temporarily register the offensive midfielder, but the measure is still provisional.
The director of the newspaper AS said on the Catalan channel TV3 that Spanish internationals threatened to stop playing, such as Gavi , Pedri , Pau Cubarsí, Marc Casadó, Lamine Yamal and Fermín López.
According to this source, these players intended not to appear in the National Team, when the next call-up was made in March, claiming physical problems.
Without being registered in La Liga , Dani Olmo could not be called up to the Spanish national team either. Although FIFA regulations do not stipulate that players must be registered with a team to be called up, they do require them to be members of the respective confederation, which was not the case due to the joint position adopted by the Spanish federation and La Liga .
The provisional measure reached “suspends the annulment of the aforementioned players’ sports licenses” and remains valid until the outcome of the litigation.
