Bayern Munich beat Wolfsburg 3-2 today in the 18th round of the German football league, strengthening their lead in the competition, ahead of the game against defending champions Bayer Leverkusen.

The Bavarians provisionally extend their lead to seven points at the start of the second half of the championship.

Wolfsburg have historically been ‘victims’ in games at the Allianz Arena, with 25 defeats and two draws in the Bundesliga, and today was no exception, with Bayern completely dominating.

Leon Goretzka opened the scoring for Bayern in the 20th minute and Mohammed Amoura equalised against the run of play in the 24th. The home side took the lead again in the 39th minute through Michael Olise, who set up Gorotzka’s brace in the 62nd.

Portuguese player Tiago Tomás entered the game in the 63rd minute for Wolfsburg and still caught the eye, providing the assist for the final 3-2, scored again by Amoura, in the 88th minute.

Bayern, who are already preparing for Tuesday’s Champions League game in Rotterdam, rested Jamal Musiala, who had the flu and only played 15 minutes.

Behind Bayern (45 points) and Bayer (38), Eintracht Frankfurt are solid third, with 36, and the top-4 now closes with Stuttgart, after beating Freiburg 4-0.

At the MHP Arena, Roualt (02 minutes), Demirovic (17), Woltermade (45+5, penalty) and Undav (80) scored.

Leipzig (31 points) dropped to fifth place, having just four days before hosting Sporting for the seventh round of the Champions League, they were held to a 3-3 draw at home to bottom-placed Bochum after leading 3-0.

Orban (10), Nusa (13) and Baumgartner (21) scored for the visitors, followed by a hat-trick from Dutchman Boadu (48, 56 and 61, the last from a penalty).
