Dani Olmo is not there, but there is news in Barça’s squad

Barcelona have revealed their 23-man squad for the clash against Benfica next Tuesday and, as previously reported by the Catalan club, the big highlight is the absence of Dani Olmo .

The Spanish midfielder suffered a strained muscle in his right leg in the match against Getafe and will not be part of Hansi Flick’s options.

That said, there is something new in the German coach’s selection. After not appearing in the lineups of the Blaugrana’s last four games – Athletic , Real Madrid , Betis and Getafe – Ansu Fati is back in a culé call-up.

The Spanish international, who has been plagued by several injuries in recent years, is looking to participate in the fourth game of the UEFA Champions League this season, after having been an option against Monaco , Young Boys and Bayern Munich, against a Benfica team that became associated.

Fati , who has not played since the Copa del Rey clash against Barbastro on the 4th, has played eight games, having only started one of those matches (against Sevilla ).

As for the rest of the lineup, note the presence of the usual starters Lamine Yamal , Raphinha , Lewandowski , Pedri and Gavi .

The duel between Barcelona and Benfica is scheduled for Tuesday, at 8pm, at Estádio da Luz.
