Erling Haaland renews long term: “I’m City now, no matter what”

“I’m very happy, very proud,” summarizes Erling Haaland after signing a 9 and a half year contract with Manchester City , that is, until 2034.

“It’s great to be able to stay at the club for longer. Now I can fully focus on improving because I’m going to be here for a long time. I’m fully focused on improving to give the fans what they want,” he said in statements to the club’s media.

“I also want to thank Pep, his coaching staff, my teammates and everyone at the club, who have all helped me so much over the last few years. They have made this club such a special place and I am now a City player , no matter what. I want to keep improving, working hard and giving my best,” he added.

Outgoing director of football Txiki Begiristain, who will be replaced by Hugo Viana at the end of the season, added: “Everyone at the club is delighted that Erling has signed a new contract. The fact that he has signed for such a long period shows our commitment to him as a player and his love for this club. He has made an incredible impact since he arrived and his amazing numbers and records speak for themselves.”
