The Graham Potter era at West Ham got off to a bad start . Julen Lopetegui’s replacement in office saw the London team eliminated from the FA Cup , after a 1-2 defeat at home to Aston Villa , in a duel between Premier League teams.
The match started off well for the visitors, who, through Lucas Paquetá , in the 9th minute, opened the scoring, with the Brazilian international finishing easily in the penalty area, after a pass from Chris Summerville.
West Ham ‘s advance lasted until the final 20 minutes, when Unai Emery’s team appeared with full force and achieved the turnaround. In the 71st minute, Belgian Amadou Onana equalized and, in the 76th minute, it was Morgan Rogers who deflected the ball into the goal to make it 2-1.
