Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, once again addressed Donald Trump, thanking him for his support, as he takes office as president of the United States this Monday.
«Your public show of support, as the new President of the United States, in particular for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, is a sign of great respect for FIFA and the continued growth of our sport around the world. I thank you with all my heart and assure you that, together, we will ensure that America welcomes the world and that football unites the world”, highlighted the director.
Infantino said it was an “incredible honor” and a “privilege” that the American head of state had marked the World Cup during his election victory speech.
