New injury? Diogo Jota in doubt for Liverpool
Portuguese international did not train and presence in Premier League match against Brentford is not certain
It’s not been an easy season for Diogo Jota . Despite his good numbers (eight goals in 19 games), the Portuguese international has had an inconsistent season in terms of appearances for Liverpool . All thanks to the various injuries that have plagued the forward.
Now, after a run of two consecutive goalscoring games, Jota could be out again. The confirmation was given by the Reds’ manager, Arne Slot, in a press conference: «There is no doubt about his importance for us, but he didn’t train yesterday, so we have to see how he is today. It is not certain that he will be available tomorrow [for the game against Brentford] , we will see.»
«When he came on [against Nottingham Forest ], he felt a little discomfort for the half hour he played. He finished the game, but he complained a little and that is why he did not train. We will see tomorrow», said the Dutchman.
Liverpool and Brentford meet on matchday 22 of the Premier League (Saturday, 3pm) as the Reds look to extend their lead over Arsenal at the top of the table.
