OFFICIAL: After Benfica, Manchester City loans Kaboré to Bremen
“Technically good player, physically strong and also has good speed”, praises the coach
Manchester City and Werder Bremen officially confirmed, this Monday, the loan of Issa Kaboré to the German club, until the end of the season.
Having cut short his loan to Benfica , where he only played seven games, the Burkina Faso international will now have his first experience in the Bundesliga , after spells in Belgium (Mechelen), France (Troyes and Marseille ) and England ( Luton Town ) – as well as Portugal, of course.
“I am looking forward to this new challenge at Werder Bremen and in the Bundesliga. The team has had a very good season so far. I want to do my part and get to know the club, the fans and the city,” said the full-back.
“Issa is an exciting player who has experience in several leagues despite his youth. Given the imminent transfer of Olivier Deman and the injury to Felix Agu , this opportunity has arisen at short notice to take Issa on loan until the end of the year. He fits the bill perfectly as he is versatile and can play on both flanks. We want to ensure that we have multiple options in all positions. We are delighted to have completed the deal at such short notice,” said Bremen sporting director Peter Niemeyer.
Ole Werner, the German team’s coach, is pleased with the signing, describing Kaboré as a player who is “technically good, physically strong and also has good speed”. “His arrival gives us more options for the way we want to play. We believe he will fit into the team perfectly,” he added.
