Real Madrid and Manchester City face each other in the Champions League playoffs; see all clashes

UEFA held the draw for the Champions League playoffs on Friday, February 31, which also defined the round of 16 matches of Europe’s top club tournament. The highlight was the duel between Manchester City and Real Madrid. The first leg games will take place on February 11 and 12, and the return leg will take place on February 18 and 19.

In its first edition with new regulations, this Friday’s draw was very different from what fans were used to. Liverpool, Barcelona, Arsenal, Internazionale, Atlético de Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Lille and Aston Villa did not participate in the draw because they finished in the top eight in the first phase and qualified directly for the round of 16.

In contrast, the other 16 best-placed teams among the remaining 28 will play a knockout round to see who advances: Atalanta, Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Milan, PSV, PSG, Benfica, Monaco, Brest, Feyenoord, Juventus, Celtic, Manchester City, Sporting and Brugge.
