Real Madrid beats Brest and will compete in the Champions League playoffs
Spanish team fails to qualify directly for the round of 16; French team also advances in the competition

THE GAME
The match between Brest and Real Madrid started without many chances. In the 12th minute, the Spanish team arrived with Mbappé, but his shot went too high and went straight out. Brest also tried to take risks from outside the area, but it was not successful. In the 25th minute, after a cross from Lucas Vázquez, Rodrygo headed the ball and goalkeeper Bizot saved it. In the next move, the Brazilian received the ball on the left side, dribbled past the defender, invaded the area and opened the scoring for Real with a great goal. The French team had a scare in the 40th minute, when Magnetti tried a cross, which ended up being a shot straight at goal, but the ball went too close and went out.
In the second half, Brest threatened in the first few minutes. In the fifth minute, Ajorque managed to score, but after a review the referee signaled offside. Shortly after, in the tenth minute, Real Madrid stole the ball and advanced into the attacking half. Lucas Vázquez received the ball on the right wing, invaded the area, crossed low, and Bellingham simply pushed it into the goal to score the second for the Spanish team. In the 32nd minute, Rodrygo appeared again. The Brazilian passed to Mbappé, who shot inside the area, but the goalkeeper saved it, and the ball fell to Rodrygo, who scored his second and Real Madrid’s third.
PLAYOFFS IN THE FIRST CHAMPIONS
Despite the defeat to Real Madrid, Brest fans celebrated at the Stade du Roudourou in Guingamp, France. Before the match began, the French team had already qualified for the playoffs and dreamed of a G-8 finish – which also depended on other results. The fans supported the team from the moment they arrived. This is Brest’s first appearance in the Champions League.
