Wrexham owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have agreed to buy yet another club. Alongside actress Eva Longoria and led by the Tylis-Porter consortium, the actors, who have also acquired a minority stake in Mexican side Club Necaxa, have bought 99 percent of La Equidad in Colombia for a reported €30 million.
According to Globoesporte , the operation was led by businessmen Al Tylis, a real estate investor, and Sam Porter, director of Club Necaxa, from Mexico. Eva Longoria, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are some of the investors who were part of the deal.
Located in Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, La Equidad was founded in 1982 and played in the first division for the first time in 2007. It has never been national champion and belonged to Equidad Seguros.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney acquired Wrexham from Wales in a project that attracted attention from around the world. In April 2024, Wrexham, which was in the National League when Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney joined, moved up a level again and returned to the third division for the first time in 19 years.
