Suárez comments on the possibility of Neymar joining Inter Miami: “Illusions…”
Uruguayan forward said it would be “complicated” for the Brazilian to join him and Messi in the Americans’ attack
In light of the news that Neymar is leaving Jorge Jesus’ Al Hilal and returning to Santos or even joining Lionel Messi at Inter Miami , Luis Suárez gave his opinion on the topic. Despite liking this idea, the Uruguayan explained that this is unlikely to happen, mainly due to MLS rules: «They are illusions… it is very difficult to make them reality.»
The striker also commented on the arrival of Javier Mascherano, his former Barcelona teammate , as coach of Inter Miami : “It’s strange, isn’t it? Having him today as a coach and not as a teammate, but we continue to have respect for him and his coaching staff.”
Already thinking about the 2025 Club World Cup , the 37-year-old player was also very excited about the games, one of which will be against FC Porto and the other with Abel Ferreira’s Palmeiras , but asked for reinforcements.
Finally, Suárez recalled his elimination from MLS against Atlanta United, in the first knockout round, after breaking records in the regular season: “A lot of pain, a lot of disappointment. We didn’t live up to people’s and the club’s expectations. It’s yet another demonstration that football is not deserved, but that it has to be shown on the field. It was a bittersweet year.”
