Toulouse accuses Lyon of fraud and files complaint
Thiago Almada’s registration at stake
Toulouse accused Lyon of fraud due to the registration of Thiago Almada, who arrived from Botafogo , and registered a police report before the game between the two teams, valid for Ligue 1 , which ended with zero. The World Cup champion with Argentina in Qatar did not leave the bench.
The French team, owned by John Textor, is banned from registering and signing players due to financial problems and is at risk of relegation. However, Thiago Almada’s contract was reviewed and validated by the National Directorate of Control and Management (DNCG) of the French Professional Football League (LFP).
The attacking midfielder, after half a year in the team that was Brazilian and Libertadores champion , with Artur Jorge in charge, joined Lyon on a “free” loan from the club.
The French Professional Football League (LFP) will now look into the complaint lodged by Toulouse .
