Manchester City boss confirms England international has asked to leave
Pep Guardiola confirmed, after Manchester City ‘s 8-0 win over Salford City in the FA Cup , that Kyle Walker has asked to leave.
“Two days ago, Kyle Walker asked to explore options in the market to play abroad and end his career. A few years ago, Bayern were interested in him, but the offer was not very good. The club told him how important he was. It is impossible to talk about our success in recent years without Walker ,” he began by saying.
“ Walker would like to go abroad for the last few years of his career. So I decided to use other players who are focused on Manchester City . He asked to explore options, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to leave. We never know,” he added.
Guardiola also addressed Grealish ‘s return to scoring after a 392-day drought: “He also provided a good assist, not just the goal. He’s a special player, he doesn’t always score a lot of goals, but that’s up to him.”
