The Colombian’s return to Spain did not work out; did not have an impactful spell at the last four clubs he played for
205 minutes: this was the playing time that James Rodríguez played for Rayo Vallecano this season, following his nomination as best player in the Copa América 2024. The former FC Porto player did not score a single goal for the Madrid club, which he has now left to signing for the Mexican club León, as both teams made official.
This will be the fifth club that James will represent in the last two and a half years, during which he spent time at Al Rayyan, Olympiacos and São Paulo, before arriving at Rayo Vallecano last August. In this entire period, he scored just six goals for these teams.
James has not been called up for Rayo matches since December 7th, having failed to perform as expected. The former Real Madrid , Bayern , Monaco and Everton player will make his debut in Mexican football, where Club León is preparing to start the Clausura tournament.
Club León will be at this year ‘s Club World Cup , where they will face Chelsea, Flamengo and Espérance de Tunis in Group D of the new FIFA competition.
