Transfer Market: Jota returns to Celtic
Portuguese winger signs contract valid until June 2030
Jota, the 25-year-old Portuguese winger, is back at Celtic , the Scottish club announced on their official website on Monday.
“Celtic are delighted to announce that Jota has returned to Paradise, with the Portuguese winger signing a five-and-a-half-year contract, subject to international clearance, which will see him at the club until June 2030,” the club said in a statement
After spells at Al Ittihad and Rennes , the Portuguese player returns to Celtic , the club he first represented in 2021/22, then on loan from Benfica , having been secured by the Scots on a permanent basis the following season.
“That first year proved to be a great success, with Jota doing his bit to help us win the Scottish Premiership and League Cup,” Celtic said in a statement.
“It’s very nostalgic for me because it was a fantastic feeling, all the moments I experienced in my two seasons here, I’m very happy to be back. I’m very excited and I can’t wait to get started,” he told Celtic TV.
“I’m very excited. The last year and a half has had its ups and downs, but that’s life and that’s football. Now I’m looking forward to working hard,” he added to the club’s media.
