Transfer Market: Paulo Fonseca is the new Lyon coach
Portuguese coach returns to France, with contract until June 2027
Paulo Fonseca is the new coach of Lyon , replacing Pierre Sage in the role, the Ligue 1 club announced this Friday .
According to the French club, the 51-year-old Portuguese coach has signed a contract valid until June 2027.
«The decision, taken unanimously by John Textor [club owner] and the entire sporting management, is in line with the desire to restore Lyon’s strong ambitions, both at national and European level», reads the statement published in official website.
The coach will have in his technical team Paulo Ferreira (assistant), António Ferreira (goalkeeper coach), Paulo Mourão (physical trainer) and Nélson Duarte (analyst).
