Transfer Market : Ronald Araújo renews with Barcelona
Uruguayan defender has been tipped to leave but will remain at Camp Nou until at least 2031
It’s close to the exit, but Ronald Araújo will continue wearing Barcelona ‘s colors . This Thursday, the Catalan emblem made official the renewal of the Uruguayan defender, who will remain linked to the Blaugrana until 2031.
At Barcelona since 2018, when he left Uruguay’s Boston River for Catalonia, Araújo has played 155 games, with eight goals scored, for Barça’s first team.
One of the team’s captains, the center forward was hit by injuries at the beginning of this season, playing just five games so far. With the opening of the winter market, the defender was linked to Juventus and was reportedly close to leaving Camp Nou. However, negotiations between the Bianconeri and Blaugrana were not concluded and Araújo will remain at Barcelona .
