Transference Market: Neymar could head to MLS to be Messi’s rival
Chicago Fire willing to open their purse strings to secure Brazilian international
Neymar could leave Jorge Jesus’ Al Hilal to be a rival to Messi and company in Major League Soccer (MLS) .
After being linked to Inter Miami , where he would meet Messi , Suárez, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets , the Brazilian international is now being linked to Chicago Fire.
According to L’Équipe , Chicago Fire are willing to open their purse strings to secure the 32-year-old forward. Despite his contract running until June, Al Hilal and the Saudi league are willing to let Neymar leave in January.
The same source adds that MLS and Chicago Fire officials are in Europe and have met with Neymar ‘s father and agent Pini Zahavi. The MLS club is offering the former Barcelona player a salary similar to that of Messi at Inter Miami . However, Neymar’s father is asking for a higher salary than the Argentine international.
Neymar , who has been struggling with some physical problems, has played two games this season for Al Hilal .
