With a solid second half, Manchester United won 2-0 against FCSB at the National Stadium in Bucharest and secured a direct place in the round of 16 of the Europa League.
Mainoo was the star of the game. In the 14th minute of the second half, he assisted Dalot to open the scoring. Then, in the 22nd minute, he played a great one-two with Garnacho before finishing beautifully with his right foot to close the score.
Although they only scored their goals in the second half, Manchester had more volume from start to finish and finished the match with 70% possession and more than twice as many shots as their opponents (21 to 8).

United finished the league stage in third place and advanced straight to the round of 16. Ruben Amorim’s team will face a rival who will come out of the group that contains Az Alkmaar, Midtjylland, Real Sociedad and Galatasaray.
RCSB will face either Union SG or PAOK in the playoffs. A draw held on Friday morning will determine RCSB’s opponent and the outcome of the match that will determine United’s opponent in the round of 16.
It is worth noting that the first eight go straight to the round of 16, and the teams that finish the league phase between ninth and 24th place participate in a playoff to try to be in the round of 16.
