Diallo saves United from embarrassment
After knocking favorites Arsenal out of the FA Cup, Manchester United flirted with embarrassment on Thursday, but managed to turn things around in the final stretch of their clash with bottom-placed Southampton, in a match for the 21st round of the Premier League. The 3-1 victory was built from the 36th minute of the second half, with Ivorian Amad Diallo scoring all three goals for the home team. Ugarte, against, scored the goal for the rival.
In the first half, although United had more shots (10 to 8), the bottom team had more possession on the field, and the 1-0 was easy for the home team. Sulemana was a real nightmare for Yoro.
In the final stage, United brought back Brazilian Antony and began to give Southampton a hard time. When the former São Paulo player missed a goal in the penalty area completely alone, boos began to emerge loudly at Old Trafford. In the final stretch, however, Diallo scored in the 36th, 44th and 48th minutes and managed to turn the game around.
