Bayern Munich draws with Celtic and advances to the Champions League round of 16
German team plays very badly at the Allianz Arena and concedes a goal in a defensive blunder, but Davies scores in injury time
What a relief, huh!
Bayern Munich are through to the round of 16 of the 2024/25 Champions League . This is what is expected of the German team, always. But this time Bayern did everything they could to avoid advancing in the competition — there is irony in that. The team played very poorly at the Allianz Arena and drew 1-1 with Celtic on Tuesday in the second leg of the playoffs ( they won 2-1 in the first leg ). Striker Kühn scored the Scots’ goal in the 17th minute of the second half, but left-back Alphonso Davies scored in stoppage time, in the last play.
And now?
Bayern Munich will face either Bayer Leverkusen or Atlético de Madrid in the round of 16, depending on the draw made by UEFA for the next phase.
