THE DEPARTURE

The match was electrifying, my friends! Come with me!

Club Brugge started off strong and didn’t even have time to breathe! Just two minutes in, Jutglà found Talbi free in the box, and the striker finished with precision to open the scoring. The lightning goal made Atalanta accelerate in search of the result, and in the 16th minute, Retegui even scored, but the goal was disallowed for offside. Ten minutes later, Talbi took advantage of a rebound and extended the lead, complicating the Italians’ lives even more. The first half continued with the home team pressing and the Belgians betting on the counterattack. At the end of the half, Atalanta hit the post and, in an immediate response, Jutglà hit a beautiful shot from outside the box to score the third.

Atalanta came back from the break ready to react and reduced the deficit after just two minutes, with Lookman finishing off a low cross from Zappacosta. The pressure continued, and in the 14th minute, Quadrado was awarded a penalty. Lookman took the shot, but Mignolet saved it, thwarting the attempt at a comeback. Even so, the Italians kept pressing, until, in the 40th minute, Rafael Tolói lost his temper, attacked Maxim De Cuype and was sent off, sealing the fate of the match once and for all. With the aggregate score at 5-2, Brugge secured their qualification without any scares.

YOU’VE LOST YOUR MIND, RAFAEL TOLÓI!

In the 40th minute of the second half, Rafael Tolói lost control and was sent off after a scuffle in midfield. The Atalanta defender threw the ball at Maxim De Cuype and then charged at his opponent, confronting him and knocking him to the ground. The referee did not hesitate and showed him a straight red card, leaving the Italians with one less player going into the final stretch of the match.
