SUMMARY

Fulham beat Nottingham Forest 2-1 on Saturday. Smith Rowe and Bassey scored for the winning team, now 8th in the Premier League. Chris Wood scored for Forest, who remain 3rd.

THE GAME

Fulham were better in the first half, making the most of their home advantage and managing to neutralise Nottingham Forest’s best players. The home side were rewarded with a goal in the 15th minute, when Adama Traoré crossed and Smith Rowe headed in. It was then that Forest went in search of a result. Gibbs-White, who had been somewhat absent, set up Chris Wood, who finished to equalise in the 37th minute.

Fulham continued to play better in the second half. In the 17th minute, from a corner kick, Raúl Jiménez rose and laid off Bassey to score Fulham’s second. With the 2-1 win, Fulham moved up to eighth place in the Premier League, now four points behind 5th place. Forest remain in 3rd.

Fulham’s next match is at 12pm next Saturday, at home to Crystal Palace. On Sunday 23rd, Nottingham Forest travel to face Newcastle
