Guardiola: “I’m counting on all the players over 30, except De Bruyne”

As summer approaches, rumours are growing about Kevin de Bruyne ‘s future . The midfielder’s contract with Manchester City runs until June and his stay in England is increasingly in doubt.

Even the Citizens’ own coach, Pep Guardiola, admitted that he still doesn’t know what De Bruyne ‘s next step will be, revealing that, at the moment, he doesn’t count on him for next season: “There are players here who are over 30 years old, but who are part of the future of this club. Except Kevin [de Bruyne]. Kevin and the club will decide his future.

“Everyone who has a contract for next season, I hope they stay here. They will help us. The next season will have a lot of games. We can’t just do this with our new players. They will be able to help and be part of our season”, said the coach, rejecting a revolution in the squad of the four-time English champions.

Kevin de Bruyne has been at Manchester City since 2015, making 409 appearances, scoring 105 goals and providing 166 assists for the club. With the City, he has won six Premier League titles , two FA Cups, two Super Cups, five League Cups and one UEFA Champions League .
