Hansi Flick punishes Koundé again… for delay
Blaugrana coach leaves defender on bench for arriving late to pre-match meeting
Hansi Flick has once again punished Jules Koundé after the defender arrived late to the team meeting ahead of the game between Barcelona and Rayo Vallecano , according to the daily Sport .
“ Jules Koundé was placed on the bench due to an internal decision,” said Flick.
This is not the first time that the German coach has taken this approach, having already dropped Iñaki Peña in the Super Cup semi-final and Jules Koundé himself against Alavés , on matchday 22. Both were starters, but arrived late for pre-match meetings, something sacred for the former Bayern coach , and were relegated to the bench.
Now, Flick has once again punished the French international for Monday night’s game, not forgiving Koundé for being late again. Héctor Fort will take the Frenchman’s place in the official team.
