Juventus beats PSV in the first leg of the Champions League playoffs
Playing at home, the Italian team takes the lead in the search for a place in the round of 16
THE GAME
Juventus beat PSV Eindhoven 2-1 on Tuesday in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 playoffs. Playing at the Juventus Stadium, the Italian team opened the scoring with a great goal from McKennie in the 34th minute. The Dutch equalized in the 11th minute of the second half, with another beautiful goal scored by the experienced Perisic. In the 37th minute of the second half, Mbangula finished off the goalkeeper’s rebound to seal Juve’s victory.
EYE ON THE TABLE
With the victory, Juventus will have to draw in the return match, in Eindhoven, on the 19th. If PSV wins by one goal, the match will be decided in extra time, and if the aggregate score remains tied, penalties will be decided. Any victory for Juve will also qualify the Italian team. Whoever advances will face Arsenal or Inter Milan in the round of 16.
