Manchester United: Cost cutting hits the canteen
Soup and sandwiches for everyone except the first team players

Manchester United’s cost-cutting drive continues, and this time it has hit the training ground’s canteen. According to The Sun, all but the first-team’s lunches have been reduced to soup and sandwiches. In addition, the under-18s have stopped playing at Old Trafford and have moved to a smaller venue in the city.
It was not clear whether the technical team, led by Ruben Amorim, was included in the cut, and whether the Portuguese should start taking his lunch from home…
Since becoming co-owner, Jim Ratcliffe has cut, among other things, Sir Alex Ferguson’s ambassadorial role, the Christmas party and funding for charities; at the same time he has increased ticket prices.
In terms of sport, and without winning in three games, Manchester United is 15th in the Premier League and faces Ipswich on Wednesday .
