Neymar: “I was very upset by Jorge Jesus’ words”

After Neymar ‘s return to the Santos pitch this Wednesday, with a 1-1 draw against Botafogo SP, at the end of the match the Brazilian international responded to Jorge Jesus, who had said that the striker was not in physical condition to play for Al Hilal. It is worth remembering that the player was not registered in the Saudi League, he was only in the Asian Champions League.

“I’m ready to play. I had the training base, but I needed games, I needed to be on the field,” he told CazéTV.

Neymar also revealed that he had not forgotten the harsh words of the Portuguese coach about his physical condition: “Obviously I was very upset with Jorge Jesus’ words when he said that I was not in the same condition as the team. In training it was completely different, I showed that I was, indeed, fit to play, that I was, indeed, in the same conditions as the other athletes. Because when we played collectively, I was the one who made the decisions, I was the one who scored the goals,” he highlighted.

“I don’t even like to talk about these controversial subjects, but it’s the reality. And when he (Jorge Jesus) gave that information, I knew that when I went on the field I would show something different. That’s it. The field speaks, the field is the only place where I can defend myself,” he concluded.
