Simeone not afraid of Real Madrid: “We are ready”
Atlético Madrid set to face Los Merengues in the UEFA Champions League round of 16
There will be a Madrid derby in the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League . The draw held on Friday morning in Switzerland determined that Atlético and Real will meet again, this time in the millionaire competition.
Diego Simeone, the coach of the Colchoneros , has already reacted to the draw and, despite not wanting to address the issue too much, he assured that the team is prepared for the clash against their city rivals.
“It’s understandable that attention is being paid to this issue, but I’ll just answer one question about it: it’s going to be a great game and we’re ready,” said the Argentine in a press conference.
“I’ll tell you what I feel. When you’re a coach, you always want to do the best, to face the best rivals and to try to compete in all competitions to be close to achieving your objectives, which is to win, and we’re doing that. I’m happy with everything that’s happening,” he concluded.
It is worth remembering that the Madrid rivals faced each other on February 8th, for LaLiga , with the score registering a 1-1 draw at the end.
