Transfer Market: Borussia Dortmund signs Carney Chukwuemeka from Chelsea on loan
It’s been a busy day for Borussia Dortmund
With the transfer window about to close, Borussia Dortmund have wasted no time in strengthening their squad, just days after Niko Kovac was officially named as the new coach of the team that will face Sporting in the UEFA Champions League play-offs .
Thus, this Monday, after Daniel Svensson arrived on loan from Nordsjaelland , the German club also secured the loan of Carney Chukwuemeka , Chelsea’s 21-year-old midfielder, until the end of the season, when the Dortmund club will have the option to sign the player permanently.
Signed from Aston Villa in 2022 for €18 million, Chukwuemeka failed to establish himself in a crowded Blues squad , for which he had only played five times this season. Now, he has become a new weapon for Dortmund for the remaining Bundesliga games (where they are 11th) and, of course, for the double duel with Sporting.
