Modric and Vini Jr. scored Real Madrid’s goals on Sunday as Carlo Ancelotti’s team beat Girona 2-0 at home and moved up to second place in LaLiga.

Real Madrid dominated the first half and had many chances to open the scoring, but Girona did their job well and managed to cut out most of the plays. The visitors also had their chances in attack. Courtois was the one who prevented Girona from scoring with two great saves. The 0-0 remained until the last minutes of the first half, but Modric scored a great goal in the 40th minute with a beautiful shot from outside the area and opened the scoring for Real.
The final stage was marked by many missed chances for Real Madrid, who did not suffer any scares. With the advantage, the home team completely dominated Girona and secured the victory with a goal from Vini Jr. In the 37th minute, the Brazilian made a good play with Mbappé and finished with a light touch to make it 2-0.
