Wolverhampton beat Blackburn and advance in the FA Cup
Brazilians decide in triumph of Vitor Pereira’s team, away from home, against Blackburn: 2-0

Wolverhampton once again relied on the brilliance of its Brazilians to secure a victory. The team led by Portuguese Vitor Pereira beat Blackburn 2-0 away from home this Sunday and advanced in the FA Cup. João Gomes and Matheus Cunha scored the goals in the match.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 33rd minute after Blackburn had played poorly. Gonçalo Guedes found Hwang Hee-Chan, who passed to João Gomes. The former Flamengo player arrived on the left and struck the ball into the net to make it 1-0.
Soon after, the second came. Wolverhampton exchanged passes quickly near the area, until Matheus Cunha appeared on the right, received a pass from Semedo and hit a cross, straight into the back of the net. The striker reached 12 goals in 25 games for the club in the 2024/25 season.
The victory takes Wolverhampton to the round of 16 of the traditional competition, considered the oldest in the world. The opponent in the next phase will be decided by a draw. Vitor Pereira’s team returns to the field next Sunday, when they will face leaders Liverpool in the Premier League – a competition in which they are fighting against relegation.
