AC Milan, beats Como and provisionally rises to seventh place

]After three consecutive defeats, all by the same 2-1 scoreline, the Rossoneri managed their second consecutive comeback, after the 3-2 defeat in Lecce, and with that they now have 47 points, although with one more game played.

They are now three points behind Bologna, in sixth place, in first place for European competitions, four behind Lazio and five behind Juventus, in fourth place, with the right to go to the Champions League, however, all with just one match played.

With Rafael Leão in the starting eleven and João Félix on the field from the 52nd minute, the visitors took the lead in the 33rd minute, with Frenchman Lucas Da Cunha finishing off a good attacking combination from the edge of the area, shooting low near the post.

The Rossoneri’s difficulties were many, even so, at 53, the American Christian Pulisic found himself in the area and shot across goal with his left foot, with the ball going into the far post for a 1-1 draw.

Six minutes after seeing his shot hit the top of the crossbar, Dutchman Tijjani Reijnders fine-tuned his aim and completed the comeback in the 75th minute, ‘firing’ from the right, between the goalkeeper and the post.

Special mention goes to former England international Dele Alli, who had not played since January 2023, and who came on at Como in the 83rd minute but was sent off in the 90th minute after a serious foul on an opponent.

With defender Pedro Pereira and forward Dany Mota in the starting eleven, bottom-placed Monza ended a run of three consecutive defeats, but still managed a compromising 1-1 home draw with fellow struggling Parma, with Armando Izzo scoring in the 60th minute, and the away team responding with a goal from Frenchman Ange-Yoan Bonny in the 84th minute.

A solitary goal from Slovak midfielder Ondrej Duda in the 72nd minute secured a 1-0 win for Verona at Udinese today, allowing them to collect their 29th point, while the hosts will maintain 10th place, with 40.

Even today, Torino hosts Empoli.

On Sunday, leaders Inter, with 61 points, visit third-placed Atalanta, with 58, while second-placed Napoli, with 60, play at penultimate Venezia.
