Aston Villa continue to chase European places. On matchday 28 of the Premier League , the Villans went to Brentford and won 1-0 and jumped to seventh place, conditionally.
Unai Emery’s team were always the more dangerous side in the first half, but they were never able to convert their attacking avalanche into a goal.
It was therefore in the second half that the decisive goal came. A powerful, low shot from Ollie Watkins broke the deadlock in the 49th minute.
Soon after, Aston Villa celebrated again, but Morgan Rogers’ goal was disallowed for offside (49′).
This result allows the Villans to add 45 points and jump from 10th to seventh place, continuing in the fight for Europe.
