Ed Sheeran explains interruption to Ruben Amorim: “I had drunk 10 beers”
British singer revealed he was drunk when he interrupted the Portuguese coach’s first interview after the draw between Ipswich and Manchester United

Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United debut was marked by what happened after the 1-1 draw at home to Ipswich . The Portuguese coach was being interviewed on the pitch when Ed Sheeran appeared, who interrupted him to greet Jamie Redknapp.
After the incident, the singer and fan of the newly promoted to the Premier League apologized to the former Sporting , but, this Friday, more statements from the British, who explained the situation better, emerged.
«I turned [ the box ] into a bar, there’s no need to go drink somewhere else, and in fact, sometimes that got me into trouble. Like in that United game where I didn’t realize Amorim was being interviewed. Honestly, I didn’t understand,” he began by saying, in conversation with Men in Blazers .
«Jamie [ Redknapp ] said to come and talk to me later and I was walking around. I had about 10 beers, saw Jamie and thought… ‘I’m going to go up and say hi to Jamie’. It was the wrong time – clearly the wrong time – but I learned my lesson and it won’t happen again [ laughs ]”, he assured.
