Fulham player complains about Bruno Fernandes’ bonus
Portuguese was elected man of the match, despite Manchester United’s elimination from the FA Cup
Calvin Bassey was one of the stars of Manchester United’s clash with Fulham , scoring Marco Silva’s goal at Old Trafford before the team advanced to the FA Cup quarter-finals on penalties. However, the defender ended the night… with a complaint.
Bruno Fernandes , who scored the goal for Ruben Amorim’s team (as well as one of the penalties) was named best player on the pitch, which did not please Bassey.
The FA Cup’s official account published a post praising the centre-back: “Calvin Bassey was incredible on both sides of the pitch.” Unsatisfied, Bassey said: “I wasn’t the man of the match.”
The 25-year-old has been one of the stars of this Fulham side who are dreaming of qualifying for European competitions in the Premier League, as well as winning the FA Cup. Bassey has made 27 appearances this season in all competitions, and scored his second goal of the season against the Red Devils .
