Lille were one of the surprises of the first phase of the Champions League, advancing directly to the round of 16 in seventh place. Although they are not in such good form – only two wins in the last five games – the return to the Champions League has revived the spirit of coach Bruno Genésio’s team. Lille were already slightly better when Adeyemi opened the scoring for Borussia in the 21st minute of the match, with a beautiful shot from a rebound off the defense. But the French came back even stronger after the break, equalized in the 22nd minute, with Haraldsson taking advantage of a great pass from Jonathan David, and maintained their dominance until the end.
