Manchester City draws with Brighton and falls into fifth place

Great game, bad result

Manchester City drew 2-2 with Brighton this Saturday at the Etihad Stadium and missed the chance to return to the Premier League’s G-4 in a match valid for the 29th round . Center forward Haaland opened the scoring in the 11th minute, with a penalty kick won by striker Marmoush. The Egyptian, in fact, scored City’s second goal with a shot from outside the area. However, before that, left-back Estupiñán had scored Brighton’s first, with a free kick. The visiting team managed to equalize again early in the second half, thanks to Khusanov’s own goal. With this result, Manchester City has not overtaken Chelsea, who will face Arsenal tomorrow , and remains in fifth place in the English Championship, now with 48 points. Brighton, in seventh, has 47.

Upcoming games

Manchester City’s next game of the season will be on March 30th, against Bournemouth, in the FA Cup. Brighton’s will be on March 29th, against Nottingham Forest, in the same competition.

100 times Haaland

With his penalty on Saturday, Haaland has now had 100 direct involvements in Premier League goals (84 goals himself plus 16 assists). He has done so in just 94 games, fewer than Alan Shearer, Salah, Cantona and any other player in the history of the Premier League.
