Manchester City draws with Brighton and falls into fifth place
City twice take the lead but Ortega fails, Khusanov scores an own goal as the away side snatch a draw at the Etihad
Great game, bad result
Manchester City drew 2-2 with Brighton this Saturday at the Etihad Stadium and missed the chance to return to the Premier League’s G-4 in a match valid for the 29th round . Center forward Haaland opened the scoring in the 11th minute, with a penalty kick won by striker Marmoush. The Egyptian, in fact, scored City’s second goal with a shot from outside the area. However, before that, left-back Estupiñán had scored Brighton’s first, with a free kick. The visiting team managed to equalize again early in the second half, thanks to Khusanov’s own goal. With this result, Manchester City has not overtaken Chelsea, who will face Arsenal tomorrow , and remains in fifth place in the English Championship, now with 48 points. Brighton, in seventh, has 47.
