Manchester United fans were right: ticket prices will increase

For the third year running, Manchester United will increase season ticket prices ahead of the 2025/26 season, in the latest move to try to revitalise the fragile finances of Ruben Amorim’s club.

The information comes from The Athletic , which also adds that the average increase for each ticket will be 5%, which roughly translates into three euros per ticket. So from the 2023/24 season, United have increased the price of season tickets by 15%, after an 11-year period in which their cost has not changed.
Measure comes after the announcement of the new stadium

Last week, the Red Devils unveiled plans for a new stadium, a project expected to cost more than two billion euros. A group of supporters – representatives of the Manchester United Supporters’ Trust – subsequently questioned whether the club planned to increase ticket prices to help support the new venue.

“Will it raise ticket prices and close the door to local fans? Will it harm the environment, which is consistently the top priority for fans at the stadium?’, read an Instagram post from the group .

Athletic also claims that Man. United are preparing to convert the seats behind the substitutes’ benches into a premium area so they can charge a higher price, a move that clubs such as Chelsea and Barcelona have already implemented.

Still, the increase will not affect fans under 16 and those over 66 will enjoy a 25% discount.
