Netherlands and Spain draw in the first leg of the Nations League quarterfinals
Teams play a lively match in Rotterdam and end in a draw. The second match will be next Sunday in Valencia

THE GAME
The Netherlands and Spain played well and drew 2-2 this Thursday in Rotterdam, in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Nations League. Nico Williams opened the scoring in the ninth minute. Gakpo equalized in the 28th. In the second half, Reijnders scored after just 37 seconds. The home team held on to the victory until the 47th minute, when Mikel Merino appeared in the area to finish after a rebound from goalkeeper Verbruggen and tie the match.
EYE ON THE TABLE
After the draw in Rotterdam, Spain will host the Netherlands next Sunday at the Mestalla stadium in Valencia in the second leg of the Nations League quarter-finals. The winner will face the team that comes out on top between Croatia and France in the semi-finals.
