Nottingham Forest were more dangerous in the second half of the game and beat Manchester City 1-0 this Saturday, playing at home, in the Premier League. The result not only kept the team in third place but also made them four points ahead of City. Striker Hudson-Odoi scored the winning goal, with a shot between the post and Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson.

The classification

Nottingham Forest are third on 51 points, leaving City in fourth on 47. Guardiola’s side could still be overtaken by Chelsea, who have 46 points and play Leicester on Sunday.

The 90 minutes

City were better, had more possession and had more shots in the first half. They were dangerous on at least three occasions, all with shots from outside the area. This was Forest’s greatest merit: protecting their area well. They let City exchange passes and take risks from distance, but they protected their goal well.

In the second half, Forest came back with a different attitude, attacking City and the match was back and forth. Hudson-Odoi even hit the post with a cross shot that was saved by Ederson beforehand. However, in the 37th minute, the goalkeeper made a mistake. He was slow to react to Hudson-Odoi’s shot from a tight angle, who shot between the post and the Brazilian to score the winning goal for the home team.
