Nuno Espírito Santo criticizes market closing date
Premier League clubs have agreed to bring forward the summer window, which opens on June 1, but the coach’s concern is another: to remain active while the league is still underway.

Nuno Espírito Santo, Nottingham Forest manager , commented this Thursday on the news about the opening of the summer transfer window being brought forward to June 1, arguing that this change does not solve the problem, as the main difficulty is not related to the start of transfers.
“I think, honestly, the big problem still remains, which is the fact that the window will still be open when the Premier League starts ,” said the Portuguese coach, after the English league clubs reached an agreement on the dates: the window will be active between June 1 and 10, due to an exceptional registration period for the Club World Cup, reopening on June 16 and closing on September 1.
The solution, according to the Portuguese coach, would be to ensure that there would be no more changes after the start of the competition, in mid-August: «That battle is not won. What I think is best for the competition is that the window should be closed by the time it starts.»
