Oblak doesn’t understand Álvarez’s disallowed penalty: “Now they’re going to change the rules”
Goalkeeper finds no explanation for Argentine striker’s disallowed goal in penalty shootout against Real Madrid

Julián Álvarez’s disallowed penalty against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 continues to generate controversy. On Thursday, UEFA explained the decision, highlighting that the Atlético Madrid forward touched the ball with his supporting foot before kicking it, but admitted, however, that it would review the rule.
UEFA’s justification did not convince Oblak .
“I haven’t really wanted to see the press these days. I’ve heard some comments, but nobody is sure. In the end, I can’t say much more. Nobody knows exactly. There is an explanation and, from what I’ve been told, there is an image that looks very different from the real image. Nobody knows. I spoke a little with Julián . He really doesn’t understand what happened, how it happened… Like everyone else,” he said, in statements to DAZN.
“It was very unlucky and, for Real Madrid , very lucky. I’ll explain it like this. Something happened that rarely happens, or never happens, I don’t know. It was our turn. I’m sure they’ll change the rules now and we were the team that had that bad luck and got what we got,” he added.
