Aston Villa beat Brighton 3-0 on Wednesday at Falmer Stadium in a match valid for the 30th round of the 2024/25 Premier League . All three of Aston Villa’s goals came in the second half: striker Rashford scored the first in the sixth minute, after receiving a long pass from Morgan Rogers; attacking midfielder Asensio scored the other in the 32nd minute, with a low shot; and winger Malen closed the score in injury time. With this result, Aston Villa stole seventh place in the league table from Brighton, who dropped to eighth place.

Double on the rise

Rashford has scored three goals in his last two games for Aston Villa, including this one against Brighton. In addition to those three goals, he has four assists for the club in 11 games in total. Asensio’s numbers are even better, with eight goals in 10 appearances for Aston Villa in all competitions.

Upcoming games

Aston Villa face Nottingham Forest at Villa Park next Saturday. On the same day, Brighton visit Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
