Attention Mourinho: Galatasaray takes another step towards third title
Victory over Samsunspor puts league leaders six points clear of Fenerbahçe, who have a game in hand

Round 31 of the Turkish championship had a big game. In a duel between leaders Galatasaray and third-placed Samsunspor, victory smiled on the Istanbul club, who won 2-0.
But not everything was easy for Gala . The first team to celebrate was Samsunspor, but Carlo Holse ‘s goal was disallowed for offside (9’).
The scare woke up the visitors, who scored a goal shortly afterwards, through Yunus Akgun (14′).
With no changes until half-time, Galatasaray went into the second half determined to extend their lead. And so it was. After scoring, Akgun served the inevitable Victor Osimhen (47′), who scored his 21st goal in the Turkish championship, where he is the top scorer. The Nigerian now has 29 goals in 32 games this season. Impressive.
Until the end, the scoreboard did not change any more. Note for former FC Porto player Nanu, who did not leave the bench for Samsunspor, while Marius Mouandilmadji, who came through the Dragons’ secondary formation, played for the entire 90 minutes for the home team.
With this triumph (and with seven rounds to go in the championship), Galatasaray increases its advantage over city rivals Fenerbahçe to six points, conditionally. José Mourinho’s team will still take to the field in this round, facing Sivasspor – Sunday, at 5 pm (Brasília time).
