Guardiola praises Aston Villa: “Did you see the game they played against my friend Luis Enrique?”
Manchester City welcomes the Villans for the Premier League and the coach asked for the fans’ support
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola spoke ahead of Tuesday’s crucial home game against Aston Villa . With five games remaining, the City sit fourth, just one point ahead of the Villans , in a crucial game for European qualification.
“They are a contender for a place in the Champions League . Did you see the game they played against my friend Luis Enrique? Wow, I was really impressed. It’s a final and we need our fans because I think they want the Champions League again next season and I hope they can help us from the first minute,” Guardiola said.
“The next games against Wolverhampton and Southampton are also finals, because every match is important,” added the Spaniard.
Manchester City boss also praised winger Jérémy Doku : “I have been so unfair to him in the last few games. I remember the away games against Tottenham and Brighton , without him they would have been impossible. The only reason he hasn’t played lately is because we haven’t been attacking with wingers. We’ve been attacking with attacking midfielders and players in midfield. Jérémy, in the final third, is unstoppable.”
