Ruben Amorim, the worst Man. United coach in the post-Ferguson era?
The Portuguese coach is still at the beginning of his adventure in the Premier League, but his numbers are very negative compared to those of his predecessors

Ruben Amorim’s numbers at Manchester United are going from bad to worse. The Portuguese coach played his 21st game in the Premier League , in which he is 14th, and still has only 23 points achieved.
In those 21 games, 10 ended in defeat, 5 in draw and only 6 in victory, that is, they have a 47.62% of defeats and 28.57% of triumphs. In total, their players scored only 26 goals and conceded 33, which results in 1.24 goals scored and 1.57 conceded per game. In addition to adding only 1.1 points per game, their longest streak of consecutive games without defeat is… just 4 – Everton (2-2), Ipswich (3-2), Arsenal (1-1) and Leicester (3-0). At Old Trafford they have 3 and away only 2.
These are quite negative numbers, but they seem even worse when compared to his predecessors. Or rather, they are the club’s worst in the post-Ferguson era. Just look at the points per game average, where the closest to the Portuguese is Ralf Rangnick (1.54), who managed 24 games – 10 wins, 7 draws and 7 defeats. Next comes David Moyes, who lasted slightly longer than the Austrian, with 1.68 – 17 wins, 6 draws and 11 defeats. With a similar average is Erik ten Hag (1.72), with Louis van Gaal (1.79) and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (1.81) coming in right behind. Finally, José Mourinho (1.89) is the club’s best manager in the league since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson (2.16).In terms of defeat percentage, the former Sporting man is also far from the numbers of Moyes (32.4%), Ten Hag (31.8%) and Rangnick (29.2%). Van Gaal (23.7%) and Solskjaer (22%) follow, while Mourinho (18.3%) and Ferguson (14.1%) remain at the top. In terms of win percentages, everyone’s numbers are quite similar (between 50% and 53.76%), except Rangnick (41%), who stands out for the negative, and Ferguson (65%) for the positive.
In terms of goals, Amorim continues to be the worst, but the highlight is the ones conceded. Rangnick is the closest to the Portuguese (1.38 to 1.57), but Ten Hag is not far off (1.32). Moyes (1.18) and Solskjaer (1.16) follow, although the Everton coach has played far fewer games, while Van Gaal (0.95) and Mourinho (0.92) have similar numbers, with Ferguson standing out (0.87). In terms of goals scored, the Dutch surpass Amorim (1.45 to 1.24), as do Mourinho (1.62), Moyes (1.65) and Solskjaer (1.78), and also Rangnick (1.38).
Finally, in the consecutive games without losing, the highlights were Mourinho (24), who was imperious at home, and Solskjaer, who broke the club’s record for away games (29). Ten Hag had positive results at Old Trafford (20), but not away (4).
Ruben Amorim should still have time to turn the situation around next season and the solution could lie in winning the UEFA Europa League , which will give another title to the trophy cabinet and also qualification for the UEFA Champions League , but a transfer market to match will certainly be necessary.
