Vini Jr. misses a penalty and Real Madrid is defeated by Valencia

THE GAME
The opening half between Real Madrid and Valencia was quite lively. Just nine minutes in, Mbappé received a fast pass, and Tárrega ended up bringing the striker down inside the area. The referee awarded a penalty to Real Madrid. Vini Jr. took the shot almost to the middle of the goal, and goalkeeper Mamardashvili saved it with his left foot. Shortly after, in the 14th minute, after a corner kick, Diakhaby appeared in the middle of Real’s defense and headed the ball into the back of the net, opening the scoring for Valencia. Ancelotti’s team pressed and even had an own goal by Diakhaby disallowed for Mbappé being offside. The Frenchman still had three chances for Real, and in one of them he ended up hitting the post.
The second half began as the first half ended. Real Madrid tried to put pressure on Valencia, which soon paid off. Four minutes in, after a corner kick, Bellingham headed the ball off the near post, and it reached Vini Jr., who simply pushed it into the empty net. The Merengue team continued to have possession of the ball and created a few opportunities. Rodrygo, who had just come on, headed the ball wide. Mbappé, Vini Jr., and Valverde also had chances, but they wasted them. In injury time, at 49 minutes, a pass to Rafa Mir, who crossed into the area, and Duro headed the ball into the goal, giving Valencia the victory.
